If you are a satellite TV subscriber in a rural community, you may be missing out on your local broadcast stations and instead paying for the news from a large city several states away. This means you don't have access to the local news, weather and vital emergency updates your local TV stations provide.

Many Americans are paying sky-high prices while the government virtually subsidizes satellite companies providing inferior service.

This is becuase of the Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act Reauthorization, or STELAR. It lets satellite companies deny essential local information to viewers in 12 rural communities and instead import TV signals from New York and Los Angeles to pad their profits.

STELAR is set to expire on December 31 and Congress is debating whether or not to reauthorize it.

Take action now using the form below. Tell your elected officials STELAR is hurting communities and must be allowed to expire.
