Hearst Television station WAPT in Jackson, Miss., aired an hour-long, commercial-free debate between incumbent Gov. Tate Reeves and Democratic nominee Brandon Presley on Nov. 1. “As a local news station, we are built on the foundation of empowering voters with firsthand information,” said WAPT General Manager Peter Keith. “We appreciate the readiness of both Governor Reeves and Mr. Presley in making themselves available in this crucial debate. Their move points to a healthy democracy where voters hear directly from the candidates. This is not just about making a choice but informed decision-making at the ballot.”
