The “Beat the Heat” fan drive from WPSD Local 6 in Paducah, Ky., surpassed its goal, collecting donations of 864 fans for neighbors in need during the summer heat. " The economic stress right now, many people, particularly the elderly often won’t turn their air conditioning on because they need to buy medicine and food and so, so many people need a fan this summer,” said Paducah Bank Marketing Director Susan Guess in an appearance on the station to promote the campaign.
