iHeartMedia Colorado aired "We are iHeart Colorado. Boulder Strong," an on-air broadcast fundraiser on March 26 to benefit the victims and the families of the March 22 mass shooting, which took place at a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder and claimed the lives of 10 people.
All 26 iHeartMedia stations across Colorado including those in Denver-Boulder aired the fundraisers all day on Friday, March 26. The funds collected will distributed through Community Foundation of Boulder County, a local nonprofit responding to immediate needs and anticipating future challenges of the community, and cover expenses such as travel and lodging for families of victims, immediate costs such as rent and utilities and more long-term needs identified by the community impacted.
In addition to fundraising efforts, the stations’ air personalities aired segments to help connect listeners who may be struggling with Colorado Crisis Services.
"Words cannot express the grief that our community has experienced as a result of this horrific event," said iHeartMedia Denver Region President Brenda Egger. "Together, with Community Foundation of Boulder County, we are proud to help with the healing process and provide assistance to those who were impacted by Monday’s tragedy."
