iHeart Media’s WRVE-FM, WGY-AM and WGY-FM Latham, N.Y., was nominated for a Service to Community Award in the Radio – Medium Market category.
The stations held their 21st annual Cares for Kids Radiothon to raise funds and to support the programs and services offered at the Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital. On May 2-3, 2019, these three local stations held a 25-hour live radio broadcast to encourage donations to the hospital’s pediatric health care programs. Leading up to the live broadcast, a variety of preliminary fundraising events were held to increase donations and generate awareness about the hospital’s programs and services. Due to the campaigns and support from these three stations the community raised $330,620 while showing its support for the hospital team that works so hard to provide quality care for sick kids.
