Townsquare Media’s WKXW-FM Trenton, N.J., was nominated for a 2020 Service to Community Award in the Radio - Small Market category. In partnership with the New Jersey State Policeman’s Benevolent Association, WKXW found a way to comfort children involved in crisis situations. The goal of this campaign was to gather donations of new teddy bears around the community to help comfort children following any tense situations to which they were exposed. With over 11,000 teddy bears collected, police cars across the state were equipped with these comfort tools to go directly into the hands of the children who could use a little something to feel better during tough times.
