Quincy’s KTIV Supports Local Families


Topic: Neighbors in Need

Quincy Media’s NBC/CW affiliate KTIV-TV Sioux City, IA supported the community through several initiatives at the end of 2019. KTIV sponsored the annual “Red Shoe Shindig” for the Ronald McDonald House, which raised $107,770 on November 22. Station anchor Matt Breen served as emcee.

The station concluded their annual “Spread the Joy” campaign on December 23 to support the Food Bank of Siouxland. KTIV produced a television spot to encourage donations of peanut butter and jelly. In total, the food drive collected over 5,000 pounds of food.

KTIV also partnered with Goodwill on December 7 to distribute hats and gloves for 3,000 kids during the 79th annual “Shoe and Mitten Party.” Station employees volunteered during the event and the station broadcast spots to encourage donations leading up to the event.
