Posted on 9/1/2019

Nexstar’s ABC affiliate WKRN Nashville has recently promoted safety in the community:

  • In May, WKRN launched “Lock It and Pocket” public service campaign in partnership with the local law enforcement community. News Director Elbert Tucker suggested the campaign after noticed an increase in reported vehicle thefts where the vehicle owners left their keys in their cars. In the 30-second on-air and digital spots, the law enforcement officers ask people to be sure and lock their vehicles and take their keys with them to prevent vehicle thefts.
  • WKRN and law enforcement raised over $18,000 to benefit the family of Metro Nashville Police Officer John Anderson, who was killed in the line of duty on July 4. Officer Anderson left behind a fiancée and a son.
