Hearst’s ABC affiliate WCVB Boston raised $350,000 on December 4 in the “Relief Fund 5: Explosion Recovery” telethon. The money supports relief efforts after a gas line exploded in the Merrimack Valley.
“We especially want to thank the entire team at WCVB Channel 5 for all of their hard work hosting the telethon,” said Essex County Community Foundation VP for Grants and Services Carol Lavoie Schuster. “We experienced first-hand the staff’s warmth, sincerity, and generosity; and it is clear why WCVB Channel 5 is such a trusted community partner.”
