WTNH-TV Investigates Faulty School Buses

Media General’s ABC affiliate WTNH-TV Hartford obtained bus inspection records from the local school district before they were made available to the public. The investigative team discovered that since September 2015, 244 buses were deemed unfit for service. According to the inspections, brakes were a factor in nearly a quarter of the violations issued. In total, inspectors found more than 380 violations. Investigators spoke with Rainbow Bus Lines President Sterling Viets who said that last year’s poor record has already been addressed. The company fired a maintenance manager.
