Cumulus’ WJR-AM Detroit raised $1 million for the Salvation Army Bed and Bread program in a radiothon held February 26. The Radiothon is the program’s primary source of funding. The Bed & Bread program serves more than 4,200 meals to the Detroit community, which amounts to more than 1.5 million meals annually, and provides shelter to 500 people every night. The Salvation Army Bed & Bread recently expanded its truck routes to deliver to new underserved areas.
