Hearst Television owned NBC Affiliate WESH-TV Daytona Beach, Fla. meteorologists Tony Mainolfi and Amy Sweezey worked to promote national “Read to Me” literacy campaign, which urges adults to read to children. In addition, the two meteorologists encouraged local actors to volunteer for BookPALS, or Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools.
