Bold Media Group’s WDNH-FM, WYCY-FM and WPSN-AM Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penn. have made it a tradition to do two concurrent fundraisers during the holiday season. The Michael G. Stanton Shower for Charity raised more $20,000 this year for the Wayne County Children’s Christmas bureau as on-air personality Michael Stanton took a shower in the freezing cold in the dead of winter. To date, “The Michael G. Stanton Shower for Charity” has raised more than $170,000. During the “Toys for Tots Challenge,” listeners helped fill up six trucks of toys with thousands of toys for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots foundation. “Several years ago, when we made the decision to attempt to do two large fundraising efforts concurrently, we wondered if both could be successful… but our listeners rally every year and the promotions continue to get bigger,” said Bold Gold President Vince Benedetto.
