On Oct. 24, Univision owned-and-operated KUVN-TV Dallas aired and streamed a debate between U.S. Senate candidates John Cornyn and Democratic challenger David Alameel. The debate broadcast in both English and Spanish. On Sept. 30, North Texas Public Broadcasting’s KERA-FM and PBS affiliate KERA-TV Dallas hosted, aired and streamed a one-hour live debate with candidates for Texas Governor, Attorney General Greg Abbott and state Senator Wendy Davis. Co-producers of this debate, which re-aired on KERA-TV on Oct. 1 and Oct. 5 and on KERA-FM on Oct. 3, include NBC owned-and-operated KXAS-TV Dallas and Telemundo owned-and-operated KXTX-TV. The Texas Association of Broadcasters provided translation and closed-captioning services, and funded satellite distribution to radio and television stations statewide.
