CBS-owned and operated KCAL-TV Los Angeles aired a debate on September 4 between Gov. Jerry Brown and challenger Neel Kashkari. Ratings data indicated it had 83,000 total viewers, surpassing popular shows "Modern Family," "The Simpsons" and "Two and a Half Men."
