Louisiana Media Company’s FOX affiliate WVUE-TV New Orleans was honored for its investigative series, in partnership with The Times-Picayune, that uncovered illegal campaign finance practices, unethical activities and a systematic lack of campaign regulation enforcement. WVUE-TV reporters spent thousands of hours diligently digging through campaign filings to uncover the abuse. In the end, the "Louisiana Purchased" series found one-third of the $209 million in statewide campaigns from 2009 to 2012 came from less than 1 percent of donors.
