After recognizing the challenges of its listeners in Southern California, Clear Channel’s KHHT-FM staff made a commitment to rebuild, renew and restore their special connection with the local community in 2013. The station’s goal was to go above and beyond audience’s expectations and to serve them with resources that would effectively improve their quality of life through education, information and innovation. KHHT-FM achieved its aim, earning the station a 2014 NAB Crystal Radio Award. Aside from conducting informative, engaging discussions and events on topics that ranged from home ownership and foreclosure recovery to local entrepreneurship and scholarship opportunities, KHHT-FM also contributed thousands of volunteer hours to meaningful charities and dedicated hundreds of valuable on-air programming hours to PSAs for various nonprofit organizations.
