Schurz Communications KYTV Springfield, Mo. aired a Republican primary debate with five candidates for Missouri Senate and a debate between U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill and challenger Rep. Todd Akin. Reporter Jerry Jacobís interviews with candidates for U.S. Senate, Governor, Lt. Governor and Treasurer aired during evening newscasts. The extended versions were posted online and on mobile apps. Election Night coverage began at 6:30 pm on Nov. 6, with local cut-ins for five minutes each half hour. Results crawled on-air and were constantly updated online and on mobile.
