Cox Media Group’s WGAU-AM Athens, Ga. hosted a debate between U.S. Representative Paul Broun and challenger Stephen Simpson on July 2. It follows a July 1 debate on Gannett Broadcasting’s WMAZ-TV Macon. WGAU-AM News Director Tim Bryant served as moderator and encouraged listeners to call with questions. Debate topics included health care law, immigration and the local economy. Both candidates are running as Republicans in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District.
