CHET-5 Broadcasting’s WDST-FM Woodstock, NY raised $100,968 for breast cancer research in this year’s Request-A-Thon and other Pink October Fundraising efforts. The money supports the Dyson Center for Cancer Care at Vassar Brother Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Listeners pledged donations, participated in an auction and attended three Pink October benefit concerts featuring Natalie Merchant and the Indigo Girls.
"The success was beyond our wildest expectations," said Radio Woodstock President Gary Chetkof. "Despite these tough economic times, the generosity of the listeners, volunteers, sponsors and artists took our breath away.”
