Topic: Community-Focused Initiatives

LIN Media-owned WPRI-TV Providence, R.I., hosted the Eyewitness News Job Fair, a state-wide event for job seekers throughout the region. When Rhode Island’s unemployment rate reached double digits, WPRI-TV President and General Manager Jay Howell noted, "In these tough economic times…it’s critical to be proactive members of our community." More than 100 hiring companies participated in the Job Fair, hosting interviews and providing resume critiques to 5,000 individuals.
