LIN Media-owned WLFI-TV West Lafayette, Ind., supported Food Finders
Food Bank in numerous ways in 2010. WLFI-TV created an ad campaign
for the organization to help raise donations year-round. The public
service department produced and ran a PSA promoting the Food Finders
"My Way" campaign. In the spot, local celebrities explained
how they fight hunger and then asked the public to help in the
effort. WLFI-TV’s Sports Department partnered with area high schools
to put on the Annual Frenzy Food Drive. The two schools, competing
against each other in basketball that night, also competed to
see which fans could donate the most food. They raised 825 pounds
in just a few hours.
