WAVY Collects 60,000 School Supplies

Nexstar Media Group’s WAVY in Hampton Roads, Va., collected more than 60,000 school supplies for area students in need this fall. Now in its thirty-first year, “Operation School Supplies” demonstrates the station’s commitment and dedication to helping school children in their community by ensuring that they have the resources necessary to excel. “The local support for Operation School Supplies is truly amazing,” says Carol Ward, general manager, WAVY. “The enthusiasm and generosity displayed by our community and our partners truly exemplify the spirit of unity and compassion that makes our region special.”
