WUSA9 Fights Food Insecurity

For six weeks in July and August, WUSA9 is hosting food drives across Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia to combat food insecurity in the Washington metropolitan region. The station reported that, according to the Capital Area Food bank, one in three people in the region were impacted by food insecurity in the region last year. In one drive, more than 3,200 pounds of food were collected for Manna Food Center in Montgomery County, Md.
