Hearst’s NBC affiliate WESH-TV in Orlando, Fla. partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank, a local non-profit, to raise more $1,000,000 during the 35th annual "Share Your Christmas" food drive. The total will provide 3.8 million meals, enough to provide 2 weeks of groceries to more than 3,300 families.

In response to the pandemic, which derailed plans for the traditional food drive, the station pivoted to accept online donations and provide safe ways for the community to give.

“All across Central Florida, hearts were opened, resources were shared, and many thousands of families who need help will get it,” said Dave Krepcho, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s president.
