During these uncertain times, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed, sad, anxious and afraid. Everyone reacts differently to stressful situations. While taking good care of your physical health is an important part of wellness, be sure to also pay attention to your mental health.
Practice good hygiene. Take deep breaths, stretch or meditate to release anxiety. Get plenty of sleep. Try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals and stay hydrated. Exercise and get outdoors regularly, while maintaining safe distancing.
You may find it helpful to get up at the same time each day, make your bed and get dressed.
Do activities you enjoy, journal about your feelings, make time to learn a new skill, create art, bake or take an online class.
It’s a good idea to stay informed, but be sure your news is coming from a trusted and reliable source. You may want to set limits on how you consume news, as focusing on the pandemic throughout the day can be upsetting.
Virtual communication can help you and your loved ones feel less lonely and isolated.
