Cox Tulsa’s Q4 Public Service Valued at $1.9 Million

Cox Media Group (CMG) Tulsa generated $1.9 million of community service in the fourth quarter of 2018. “We are most proud of not only the size of our impact in our community, but also the diversity of needs we addressed during the fourth quarter,” said CMG Tulsa Director of Marketing and Radio Operations Nate Reed. “The employees at CMG – Tulsa care greatly about using our platform to improve the quality of life of our neighbors and this remarkable impact is proof of that.”

  • Fox affiliate KOKI and R.I.P. Medical Debt eliminated $1.3 million of medical debt for Tulsa residents.
  • KJSR-FM held a radiothon on October 26 for the Disabled American Veterans’ (DAV) Oklahoma chapter and was the media sponsor for DAV’s 5K on November 3. The events raised $88,000.
  • KOKI-TV and KRMG-FM promoted and fundraised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Light the Night Walk,” which raised $123,000 on November 2. Staffers walked in memory of a colleague who died from blood cancer.
  • KRAV-FM challenged fans of Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma to donate goods during a food drive held November 9 before the teams’ rivalry game. They collected 22,000 meals for the Community Food Bank of Oklahoma.
  • KRMG-FM raised over $300,000 during its 14th annual “Stories of Light” fundraiser, held November 13-15 for the Oklahoma chapter of Make-A-Wish.
  • KWEN-FM morning show host Natalie Cash lived on top of a 35-foot scaffold for three days during the “Bikes for Kids” event. The 1,910 bikes collected are valued at $95,500.
