NBC New York Delivers 1.9 Million Meals to Needy Families

NBC-owned WNBC-TV and Telemundo’s WNJU-TV New York City collected 1.9 million meals, which will restock eight food banks with 240 tons of nonperishable goods. The second annual “Feeding Our Families / Alimentando a Nuestras Familias” event was held April 28 in partnership with 254 Stop & Shop supermarkets and featured more than 1,000 volunteers, including anchors, reporters and station staff.

“WNBC is committed to fighting hunger and making a difference in every community we serve,” said General Manager Eric Lerner.
