WBZ-TV and WBZ-AM Cover Boston Bombings

CBS-owned WBZ-TV and WBZ-AM Boston were recognized for their coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings. As the only local TV station covering the Boston Marathon, WBZ-TV was positioned to provide coverage as it unfolded from the bombing scene. WBZ-AM quickly went into wall-to-wall coverage, interviewing local public safety officials, law enforcement and elected officials to help explain what was happening. As the Peabody Award website notes, WBZ-TV and WBZ-AM received the recognition "for becoming go-to sources, not just for their city but for a stunned nation."
